One of my favorite tools is The Angler 2 from Pam Bono Designs. This is a tool that helps with 45º angles. It is great for half-square triangles, or any other 45º piecing. When you use this tool, you don’t have to mark the diagonal line on the back of any pieces. When you’re sewing a lot of pieces, it saves a lot of time!
It sits on your sewing machine and makes it easy to line up the pieces to sew in a chain. I love, love, love this tool! I used it while doing the sashing on the Sew Mama! Block-of-the-Month. (You’ll see that later in the series.) Here are a couple of pics of me using the Angler 2:
I also found another product at Fat Quarter Shop, one of my great sponsors. It is called Clearly Perfect Angles, and looks like it does a similar thing. It is intriguing, because it looks like it clings to the machine without having to tape it.
Hope you find this useful, and that you’ll find 45º angles a little less intimidating!
