Hey Mama! Sew Along – Block 11

banner

It’s block 11 of the Hey Mama! sew along! We are getting close to the finish! Are you keeping up? Don’t worry if you’re not. You can always catch up later. I’ll keep the patterns online for awhile.

Block 11 is called Fox and Geese. It is a fun block, and uses methods we’ve already practiced. There is one seam along the bias, so be careful when you sew.

Here are the instructions: (As always, just a reminder, the finished block will be 9″, which is 9 1/2″ before finishing.)

1. With a marking pencil, mark a diagonal line on the wrong side 3 of the background squares, 3 1/8 x 3 1/8”.

2. Pair 3 of the black 3 1/8” x 3 1/8” squares with the 3 marked background squares. Sew 1/4” on both sides of the marked line. Cut on the marked line and press toward the black. Makes 2 half-square triangle units per square, 6 total.
