Michael Miller Fabrics was started in 1999 by Michael Steiner and Kathy Miller. When they first started out they couldn’t afford rent in Manhattan, so they ran the business out of Michael’s apartment. Now they have grown to around 20 people, and have a home of their own in New York City. Their fabric is fun and fanciful, and they have a lot of novelty fabrics, as well as great mixers. And, of course, lovely batiks! (My favorite, if you haven’t figured it out…)
Here are a few of their current and upcoming lines:
The first line is called Bed of Roses, and is a beautiful floral line. It includes a border fabric with a white background and a navy background. It will be shipping in April, 2016.
The next line is Pets A Plenty. It has the most adorable animals! I especially love the kitties! It is available in blues and pinks/oranges, and also has some great blenders with it. It will be shipping in April, 2016.
Next is a line called Sommer by Sarah Jane. It is another floral, with cute, whimsical companion pieces. It is currently available.
The next line is called Into The Deep by Patty Sloniger. It is what is sounds like, and ocean-themed line. I love the colors and the great designs. It is currently available.
I’ve mentioned before that Holiday fabric ships in the summer, so the next line is a fun holiday line. It is called Holiday Party, and I love the groovy-ness of this line! It looks more like a New Year’s Eve line. It will be shipping this month.
Next are some of the gorgeous, new batiks recently released. I love batiks, and these are such bright, pretty colors and designs!
The next line is a fun, whimsical line called Birds and the Bees by Tamara Kate. I love the funky birds, available in light and dark backgrounds! This is currently available.
Last for today is a lovely little line called Brambleberry Ridge. It is by Violet Craft. It is sort of a floral/woodsy mix, with some pretty colors and a touch of gold. It is currently available.
I hope you enjoyed this small sampling of Michael Miller Fabrics! There are tons of patterns and other sewing ideas on their website as well. Look for their fabrics at your local quilt shop!
