A Great Cause!

I’ve found a great new cause for quilters! Quilts of Valor is an organization dedicated to covering all wounded veterans with a quilt, whether the damage is physical or emotional. They pair up “toppers” (those who create beautiful quilt tops) with “quilters” (long-arm quilters) and then send the quilts to hospitals and other locations.

I just finished my first long-arm quilt, being paired up with Darla in Wisconsin! It feels great to give back to these brave men and women who have suffered the most from the war on terrorism.

Check out their blog for lots of photos and information, or their web site. Here are a few photos of the patriotic quilts from their web sites:

These first two are from a Quilts of Valor Sewing Day in Oconomowoc, WI. (Interestingly enough, I had 4 of my quilts there at a quilt shop during the summer!)

  1. Hi Cheryl!
I just wanted to say thanks for the 100 quilt blocks magazine – it arrived in yesterday’s mail. It was wonderful to see it mixed in with regular old bills and junk mail. ;)

I can’t wait to try a sampler quilt with some of these cool blocks!
    THANKS AGAIN!! Elaine C.
