Four of my quilts will be hanging in Red Rooster Quilts in June! This is a “local” shop (1 1/2 hour drive), so I know about it personally!
Red Rooster Quilts & Treasures is located in historic downtown Logan, Utah. Owner, Kaye Nielsen, renovated the building to make a great backdrop for some cool fabrics! She founded the store in 2003 in Providence, Utah (a “suburb” of Logan, if that term can be used!). Then she moved into the “city” a couple of years ago. Her store is right next door to the famous Bluebird Cafe, known by Loganites for generations! [ MORE » ]
Welcome to Quilt o’the Day! This is my way to spotlight each of the quilts from my book “Fresh and Fabulous Quilts”. Each week (or less!) I will tell about each of the quilts, and how they came to be.
One hint you will hear with quiltmaking is that you need to “press” not “iron.” This means that you pick the iron up and set it down on the seams instead of moving the iron back and forth on the seams. The reason for pressing is to keep your seams from stretching or becoming misshapen. This will give you better results when putting blocks together, and finishing your quilt top.
Four of my quilts are on their way to Clarksville, Tennessee to a store called Blooming Stitches. If you’re near Tennessee their address is 1953 Madison St., Clarksville, TN 37043.
