Hey, all! If you’ve never visited my quilting blog before, welcome! If you have visited, welcome back! I hope you are enjoying the blog tour so far, and I hope you take a minute to peruse my site. You can “like” me on Facebook, or I’m on Twitter, or just subscribe. All of these options are on the right.
I love the Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks series, and have had blocks in Volumes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, and now 8. I love to see what other designers have come up with each time, also, and it’s a wonderful issue. Make sure you stop by Quilty Pleasures, Quiltmaker’s blog, for a full list of participating blogs and lots of prizes! (Yes, I have some, too!)
I had a great time designing my block, It Snowed! (Page 40, block 734.) I had a fabulous snowflake-patterned batik, and this little guy just seemed perfect for it. I like combining piecing and appliqué, so I added some flying geese units and half-square triangles around the outside. Doesn’t he just look like he’s enjoying the season?
I used the same snowman for a row quilt round robin I participated in at Patchwork Posse earlier in the year. Here is the row I designed for that:
Now, if you’re still reading, congratulations! You have made it to the giveaways! I am giving away 2 copies of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 8, and a 2 copies of my book, Quilt Batik! as prizes. Just leave a comment with your favorite snow-related activity, and the winners will be selected randomly. I will announce the winners on Friday, November 15. (Also make sure I have your email address, and I’ll let you know if you’re a winner.)
Enjoy my site, and enjoy the rest of the blog tour!
